Trying something new can feel exciting—and a little intimidating. At Solace, we make your first visit feel comfortable, supported, and stress-free. Whether you’re joining us for Mat Pilates, Reformer, or Yoga, here’s everything you need to know before stepping into the studio.
Mat Pilates: What to Expect
Mat Pilates is a low-impact, core-focused workout done entirely on the mat. It’s perfect for beginners and requires no previous experience.
What to bring:
• Comfortable, stretchy clothing
• Grip socks (optional but recommended)
• A water bottle
What you’ll do:
You’ll learn foundational Pilates movements like breathing, alignment, and controlled core activation—all at your own pace. Your instructor will offer modifications and hands-on guidance so you always feel supported.
Reformer Pilates: What to Expect
Reformer Pilates uses a spring-based machine designed to strengthen, lengthen, and stabilize your whole body. It looks complex at first, but your instructor will walk you through every step.
What to bring:
• Grip socks (required for safety)
• A water bottle
• Comfortable activewear
What you’ll do:
Expect guided movements using springs, straps, and the carriage. You’ll build strength without strain and discover muscles you didn’t even know you had. Our instructors provide personalized attention, especially for first-timers.
Yoga: What to Expect
Our yoga classes are gentle, grounding, and beginner-friendly. No previous flexibility or yoga experience required—just come as you are.
What to bring:
• A yoga mat (or borrow one at the studio)
• Light, breathable clothing
• Water
What you’ll do:
You’ll move through breath-based flows, gentle stretches, and restorative postures that help release tension and improve mobility. Instructors will offer modifications and cues so you always feel comfortable.
Helpful Tips for Your First Visit
